Week 2 Art Project: Neil Castro, Ben Alto, Nik Nurhafieza Nik Mohd Rosidi

Artists Ben Alto, Neil Castro, and Nik Nurhafieza Nik Mohd Rosidi collaborated during week 2 of ASA 115 "race traitors on this photography art project. Working off of the themes of the class during this week the art represents the different shades of color that each of our group members represents. This can be seen clearly in the title where the text goes from black to white showing the spectrum of colors used intraracially to distinguish a class system

The artwork was inspired by the movie posters including independence day. The date of July 4th, as well as the coloring of the font,  was made to signify the racial regulation that still occurs in the United States.

This piece was created using three photos from an iphone 6s and modified using photoshop.

  1. Nice concept, good thinking. Maybe a bit more of explanation of how this is relevant to the course materials, other than each person's skin color. If it is inspired by a movie poster, you may want to make some editing to make it look like a real movie poster which would be great. Overall good work.
