Ben Alto: week three Asa 115

In Thomas Teo's "The Historical Problematization Of “Mixed Race” In Psychological And Human-Scientific Discourses" the historical views on mixed-race couplings are reviewed. In early times he identifies mixed-race terminology to be largely sex-related and sometimes not untowardly mentioned depending on the nationality of the publication. Later on, the author recognizes that mixed-race couplings were thought of to be the result of rape and other forceful breeding actions. In the united states the author remarks on the tendency for mixed African American/white offspring to be more accepted if their father was white than if their mother was a white woman. Attached to this post I have included a picture of the "Nuremberg race laws" that were sampled from the United State's Holocaust memorial museum's website. This picture showcases how mixed-race people were categorized based on their ancestors.
